About the event
Unity In Color is a global photography series. It originated in January 2017 in Los Angeles and has since spread to over 30 cities worldwide. We are looking forward to the upcoming Miami edition!
What began as a visual statement in support of the Women's March in the U.S. has expanded beyond borders to spark new conversations about our individual journeys and our shared histories. Just as women throughout history joined forces to secure our freedom and human rights — we continue to reach for worldwide unity. Thank you for standing with us! This is just the beginning.
DAY OF SHOOT
Please wear either YELLOW, GOLD or TAN. Head to toe! We wear these colors both as a uniform and with all the hues, styles and flare we each bring to the table. While our colors are a nod to early feminist movements (that predate the 20th century's Suffragettes) and ancient symbols of the divine feminine, the standard we bear is that of an inclusive, intersectional feminism that represents the myriad incarnations of womanhood that have often been overlooked.
Intersectional Feminism is inclusive of People of Color, trans folk & cis-women, LGBTQIA women, women with disabilities, women from all ages, religious faiths and backgrounds. It is the recognition that there is more than one way to live and love and be a woman. To stand for Women’s Rights, we must acknowledge this and move forward in total unity and inclusivity.
